Continuing Education Details by Type

Please see the continuing education approval details below for each professional license type. Approved sessions are different for each professional license type and come from various governing boards and agencies. Your certificate/transcript will have all required disclosure details on the back pages. 


  • Athletic trainer (AT) - All 15 sessions approved up to 15.5 hours with Athletic Trainers Section of the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers Board
  • Attorney, judge, and legal professional (CLE) - 14 sessions approved up to 14.5 hours with Supreme Court of Ohio. Excludes session #1.
  • Certified case manager (CCM) - 14 sessions approved up to 14.5 hours Commission for Case Management Certification
  • Certified disability management specialist (CDMS) - 14 sessions approved up to 14.5 clock hours with Certified Disability Management Specialists Commission
  • Certified health education specialist (CHES, MCHES - NCHEC) - All 15 sessions approved up to 15.5 Category 1 with the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc.
  • Certified medical assistant (CMA-AAMA) - All 15 sessions approved up to 15.5 hours with American Association of Medical Assistants
  • Certified professional coder (CPC) - All 15 sessions approved up to 15.5 hours American Association of Professional Coders. Download the Attendee Code Card
  • Certified public accountant (CPA) - Meets the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) standards. The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation is providing and is approved for up to 18.6 CPE credits with 1.2 being PSR (for session 1803). 
  • Certified rehabilitation counselor (CRC) - 14 sessions approved up to 14.5 clock hours with Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification. Excludes session #1.
  • Chemical dependency counselor (CDC) - 10 sessions approved up to 10.0 content area hours with Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board. Excludes sessions #1, #1702, #1801. #1802, and #1803.
  • Chiropractor (DC) - 12 sessions approved up to 12.5 hours with Ohio State Chiropractic Board. Excludes session #1803, #1805, and #1904.
  • Dentist (DDS and DMD) - All 15 sessions approved up to 15.5 hours with AGD. AGD has approved BWC for approved program provider status
  • Dental hygienist (RDH) -  All 15 sessions approved up to 15.5 hours with AGD. AGD has approved BWC for approved program provider status
  • Health Information Management (AHIMA) - All 15 sessions approved up to 15.5 hours with American Health Information Management Association 
  • Licensed professional counselor (LPC, LPCC) - All 15 sessions approved up to 15.5 hours, with Ohio counselors, social workers, marriage & family therapists shall consider MHS approved provided the subject matter is relevant to the professions license 4757-9-05
  • Licensed social worker (LSW, LISW) - All 15 sessions approved up to 15.5 hours, with Ohio counselors, social workers, marriage & family therapists shall consider MHS approved provided the subject matter is relevant to the professions license 4757-9-05
  • Marriage & family therapist (MFT) - All 15 sessions approved up to 15.5 hours, with Ohio counselors, social workers, marriage & family therapists shall consider MHS approved provided the subject matter is relevant to the professions license 4757-9-05
  • Nurse (APRN, LPN, and RN) - All 15 sessions approved up to 15.5 contact hours with American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation
  • Occupational therapist (OT) - All 15 sessions approved up to 15.5 hours with Occupational Therapy Section of the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers Board
  • Occupational therapy assistant (OTA) - All 15 sessions approved up to 15.5 hours with Occupational Therapy Section of the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Trainers Board
  • Ocularist, Optician, Optometrist (OD) - All 15 sessions approved up to 15.5 hours with Ohio Vision Professionals Board. Practice Management 14.5 hours, and Session #1703 received 1.0 Pharmacology hours.
  • Paramedic, AEMT, EMT, EMR - All 15 sessions approved up to 15.5 hours with GPHEC and Paramedic Network
  • Pharmacist (ACPE) - 12 sessions approved up to 1.25 CEUS with the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. Excludes session 1805, 1901, and 1903 
  • Physical therapist (PT) - All 15 sessions approved up to 15.5 hours with the Ohio Physical Therapy Association
  • Physical therapy assistant (PTA) - All 15 sessions approved up to 15.5 hours with the Ohio Physical Therapy Association
  • Physician – D.O., DPM, M.D., and PA (CME) - All 15 Sessions approved up to 15.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ with Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education
  • Professional Engineers and Surveyors - Registered professional engineers and professional surveyors must comply with Ohio Revised Code section 4733.151. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours shall be relevant to the practice of engineering or surveying and must include technical, ethical, or managerial material. Please refer to the Ohio State Board of Engineers and Surveyors to find guidance on the Continued Professional Development (CPD) requirements, acceptable hours, and attendance documentation to determine eligible. Engineers and Surveyors must complete the necessary steps in accordance with Ohio Revised Code section 4733.151 to determine which BWC Medical & Health Symposium courses apply. 
  • Psychologist (OPA-MCE) - 14 sessions approved up to 14.5 hours with Ohio Psychological Association

How to receive a Certificate of Attendance?

  1. Arrive at each session on time. Sessions open fifteen minutes prior to session begin time.
  2. Attend the session, including question & answer portion. 
  3. Complete a Session Survey for each session attended.
  4. Complete the Overall Evaluation.
  5. Download Certificate of Attendance from the site.
  6. Full continuing education details will be included in each session and available for downloading.

Some session presenters may have a declared or perceived conflict of interest due to their commercial involvement with the subject matter they present. The presenters have taken measures to ensure their presentations are free of commercial influence and bias or partiality toward a specific product or service from which the presenter or his/her employer could financially benefit.
